Spring Workshop Series
The faculty at Gotta Dance is committed to providing each of our dancers the best dance education possible. Our Performance Team is a group that was formed in order to give our most serious dancers an opportunity to challenge themselves as well as to perform throughout the year. We are proud and excited to offer our Team a variety of workshops with some very talented dance educators so they can continue to challenge themselves as dancers and as artists.
Invoices for these events were sent to your email on 3/27. Money is due at the studio no later than Thursday, April 13th.
DRESS CODE. The Performance Team must wear the following to every Workshop:
- Team Cap-Sleeved Leotard
- Team Shorts
- Rhinestone Headband
- Hair in Bun
- Tan Tights
- Jazz Boots
- Arrive to class wearing Team Warm-up and Sponsor Shirt
May 4th - Leaps & Turns with Kenny Borchard
Kenny Borchard is an alumni of Idyllwild Arts Academy and the University of Arizona, where he graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance. Since graduating Kenny has worked on television and commercial projects with credits including a featured role on TruTV’s Fake Off, What Not to Wear, Toyota Pruis, Mobbed, and Lifetime’s Petals on the Wind. He has also traveled the world performing Stage and Screen, a jazz- broadway revue show companies including Odyssey Dance Theatre, Solevita Dance Company, Pacific Festival Ballet and Pasadena Dance Theatre. Kenny was in the final cast of “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” at Disney’s California Adventure.
Kenny has taught at many of the top conservatories of Southern California and Tremaine Dance Convention. He is also on faculty at Joffrey Texas, a summer dance intensive established by Robert Joffrey in 1978. Besides teaching and dancing Mr. Borchard has a begun expanding his resume by assisting in the marketing and producing of Los Angeles Dance Festival.
May 11th - Jazz Technique with Enrique Brown
Enrique Brown - Founder of Brown Productions, Enrique is a theatrical producer, director, choreographer and performer. From a young age Enrique was drawn to the stage and show business. His early training began in Dallas and continued with many instructors all over the nation including schools like the Houston Ballet Academy and Virginia School of the Arts. Enrique spent four seasons with Ballet Oklahoma where he danced roles from the Prince in The Nutcracker to Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. Other favorite ballet roles include Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, D’artagnon in The Three Musketeers and the world’s shortest George Bailey in the premiere of It’s a Wonderful Life. From there, Enrique went on to become an actor/singer/dancer in many Broadway, national touring, regional and stock productions. He was last seen playing multiple characters in The Little Mermaid at The Lunt Fontaine. From 2004 to 2006 he was in the revival of Fiddler on the Roof starring Alfred Molina, then Harvey Fierstiein and Rosie O’donnell, where he performed the famous bottle dance for two years. Other Broadway credits include The Music Man where he performed the role of Tommy Djilas and Oklahoma! He can also be seen dancing in the film titled “Across the Universe” directed by Julie Taymor. Enrique has traveled the US in the national tours of Fame-The Musical and in the comedy role of Big Deal from West Side Story.
